Telehealth

What is telehealth?

Telehealth is an opportunity for you and your therapist to connect during a live video session to address your physical therapy needs. Telehealth provides an opportunity to evaluate, instruct, and progress your exercises real time from your home. We can assess the ergonomics of your work-from-home set up. Real time video gives us a unique ability to help guide your posture, balance and body mechanics with household activities. If you are having difficulty staying motivated your therapist can help you refocus your exercise program in a creative way. Let’s use this opportunity to achieve your goals from the comfort of your home.

How do I connect with my therapist using video?

Your therapist will be using a browser-based program called Doxy.me to connect during your Telehealth session. Doxy is HIPPA compliant and easily accessible on the internet. You will need to connect with a device that has a camera and a microphone such as a computer, tablet, or phone. Our therapist will need your email address to initiate your telehealth session. An email with a link to the meeting with your therapist will be sent prior to your appointment.

Will my insurance pay for this service?

The ability to provide Telehealth services has been extended to physical therapy during the COVID-19 pandemic. Each insurance carrier has different rules about how to cover these services. Payment for physical therapy Telehealth services may be changing as the state of emergency comes to an end. We encourage you to call your carrier to verify your Telehealth benefits for physical therapy. If your carrier does not provide physical therapy, we offer self-pay options. Please contact us if you are interested in learning more about our Telehealth services.
